Septic System Maintainence
To have a well working septic system you need good bacteria. Chlorinated cleaners can often interfere with this touchy ecosystem of good vs. bad. If the waste and paper in the system are not getting broke down you can end up with blockage in the septic system or even worse, backup into your home. So, how do you handle this bacteria? You put a kind of "probiotic", good bacteria, back into it. Use this recipe once every 4-6 weeks after everyone has gone to bed.
4 cups Very Warm Water
4 cups Brown Sugar
2 packages Active Dry Yeast
Add the warm water and sugar to a large bucket and stir util sugar is dissolved. Add the yeast and stir. Set the mixture aside for 10-15 minutes or until the yeast reacts to the sugar and begins to form bubbles or a sort of froth on top. In increments, dump the mixture into the toilet and flush in portions. Do not try to flush all at once.
Bath Mats and Rugs
Sprinkle a mixture of 1/4-1/2 cup Baking Soda with 10-15 drops EO of choice onto mats. Let stand for 20 minutes and then vaccuum.
Keep Fresh Scents Abounding
Place a few drops of your favorite Essential Oil on the toilet paper roll. Everytime it is used, the fragrance will be released.
